Reiki

A gentle yet powerful energy healing practice that brings your body, mind, and spirit back into balance.

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a natural, non-invasive healing technique that works with the body’s own energy system to promote deep relaxation, emotional balance, and self-healing.
The word Reiki comes from Japanese, Rei meaning “universal life force” and Ki meaning “energy.”
Together, it translates to “universal life energy” the subtle energy that flows through every living thing.

When our energy is balanced and flowing freely, we feel calm, centred, and well.
But when that energy becomes blocked or depleted through stress, worry, trauma, or the demands of everyday life we may experience fatigue, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or physical tension.
Reiki gently restores this natural flow of energy, allowing the body and mind to move into a state of harmony and rest.

How Reiki Works

During a Reiki session, energy is channelled through the practitioner’s hands to the client using light touch or by hovering just above the body.
The energy intuitively flows to where it’s needed most, physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.

You might feel warmth, tingling, gentle waves of energy, or simply a deep sense of peace.
Many clients describe the experience as a “reset for the nervous system” like a full-body exhale that melts away tension and restores inner calm.

Because Reiki works with energy rather than physical manipulation, it can support and complement all other forms of healing and wellbeing. It’s suitable for everyone and can be experienced in person or at a distance.

The Benefits of Reiki

Reiki is deeply personal, each session meets you exactly where you are, but most people notice a combination of these benefits:

  • A calmer mind and improved emotional balance

  • Relief from stress, anxiety, and tension

  • Better quality sleep and relaxation

  • Support for hormonal and energetic changes (including perimenopause and menopause)

  • Relief from overwhelm, burnout, or fatigue

  • Increased clarity, focus, and self-awareness

  • A greater sense of connection to your body and intuition

Ultimately, Reiki helps you return to yourself, grounded, peaceful, and re-energised.

What to expect

We will begin by discussing how you’ve been feeling, physically, mentally, and emotionally, before lying comfortably, fully clothed, on a treatment couch.
Soft music, gentle lighting, and a calm atmosphere will help your body and mind settle.
As I place my hands lightly on or above key energy points, you may drift into a meditative state or even fall asleep.

After the session, we’ll take a few minutes to reflect on how you’re feeling, and I’ll share any energetic insights or areas of focus that arose.
The benefits of Reiki often continue to unfold for days afterwards as your energy gently integrates and balances.
